The Tithing Challenge:
Inspiring Generosity to Empower Our Ministry
September 7th-November 30th, 2025
A Call for the Congregation to Partner in Faith and Generosity
Introduction
Tithing is more than a tradition; it is a spiritual discipline and an act of worship that invites each believer to participate actively in God’s work. It is an invitation to trust, to step out in faith, and to experience the blessings that come from putting God first in all areas of our lives—including our finances. Today, as a ministry dedicated to bringing hope, healing, and spiritual growth, we extend a heartfelt challenge to our congregation: to embrace tithing fully and join to support the work God has entrusted to us.
The Biblical Foundation of Tithing
Tithing, the practice of giving ten percent of one’s income or resources, has its roots deep within Scripture. In Genesis 14:19-20, Abram gives a tenth of all he has to Melchizedek, the priest of God Most High, in gratitude and recognition of God’s provision. The principle is reiterated in Leviticus 27:30, where God declares, “A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.”
In Malachi 3:10, God extends a bold promise: “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this… and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” Here, God invites us not only to obey but to trust—and to witness the transformative power of generosity.
Why Tithing Matters for Our Ministry
Our ministry flourishes when we are united in purpose and generosity. The support of the congregation through tithes enables us to:
When we give, we are not merely fulfilling an obligation; we are sowing seeds for a harvest of changed lives and lasting impact.
The Tithing Challenge: An Invitation to All
We are inviting each member of our congregation to take part in a 90-Day Tithing Challenge. This is a bold, faith-filled opportunity to honor God with your finances and to experience firsthand His provision and faithfulness.
How the Challenge Works
Taking the First Step
Tithing can be a challenge, especially if it is new or if finances are tight. We encourage you to begin where you are and trust God to help you grow. Start by praying over your decision, seeking wisdom, and inviting your family into the journey. Remember, tithing is not about the amount, but about the heart—an act of faith and obedience.
Testimonies of Transformation
Many in our congregation have already experienced the joy and blessing of giving. Here are just a few stories of how tithing has made a difference:
